Easy Dessert Treat for Kids and Adults

Sweeten Someone's Day with an Easy Cookie and Ice Cream Message Dessert

Thanks again to Trader Joe's for making alphabet cookies because they make this little treat possible!

I got my hands on some caramel swirl ice cream and used my TJ's cinnamon flavored alphabet cookies to make a little dessert treat for a sweet friend who had a rough day.

Just when you thought this terrific treat couldn't get any better:

The caramel ice cream is that awesome Edy's Slow Churned variety that is a shockingly low 2g of fat per 1/2C serving!! Those cookies are equally low sugar and low fat, so when serving it to kids or those watching their weight, they will be even MORE appreciative of this totally adorable and guilt free dessert.

Inspiration: Great Color Trend - Neon!

NEON IS ON!

Check out all this neon out there.  It was a trend some started to try out in 2012.  I chose some nice shots of people using neon in really creative and beautiful ways.

Here are some great inspiration pictures to give you a hint of what is out there.

Really amazing wall style and dessert vignette by Somewhere Splendid.
The woodland creatures warm my heart, but add neon to that - WOWzers.

Neon and nude are nice to look at, too!

Cool DIY from Green Wedding Shoes Blog.  Not sure if the neon would hold up on the toes of the shoes for long, but they sure look cool here!

That cake looks great!

Super delicious neon lemon tart from Andre's in Kansas City, Missouri.

What a cool little story about how these invitations were made by Ladyfingers Letterpress.
They do all hand drawn and lettered inviations.  I am a big fan!

Have any cool neon pictures to share? I would love to see them!

Breakfast Birthday Party

Something Simple But Beautiful for a Birthday Breakfast Party

Sometimes all it takes to turn a simple breakfast into a special event is making a pretty display out of your ingredients.

We just had scrambled eggs, with bagels and lox with all the condiments.  It's all about the arrangement, in my opinion.

Trader Joe's has excellent lox for a great price, a nice ripe tomato, shaved red onion, sliced cream cheese and capers.

Also, I think adding kosher salt and pepper to the tomatoes really livens up their flavor.

Then, a quick visit to Andre's to get these awesome desserts.

A lemon tart, a classic Napoleon, a dainty almond layer cake with pistachio butter cream, a super Rummy Rumball and a hidden dark chocolate covered macaroon.  All you need to complete the dessert is a nice hot cup of black coffee.

Very easy and very delicious!
